2008-09-10: Farewell Show at The Outland Ballroom with Pretty/Ugly, The Preservation Society & more! |
|
Wednesday, September 10, 2008 I know you're all scared and sad... In case you didn't already know, Andy is heading out to get his masters degree at St. Andrews in Scotland (!) this month. We all wish him well, but it will put a decidedly oceanic damper on our live shows... For the moment, however, BBC is very much alive, well, and playing on the tenth at The Outland Ballroom with many friends! Here are the friends that have confirmed so far: Pretty/Ugly, Dogwood Canyon (FKA A Blue Treehouse & The Homeless Beard), Grace Classical Academy and The Preservation Society. Here is Andy's statement from the Facebook Invititation: "We will be celebrating a breaking of the fellowship of sorts by playing a full set with friends old and new. Pretty/Ugly and others (see above listing and posters around Springfield) will be opening up for us. It is possible there will be a post-show noise-country hootenanny following Arise and Go! at the same location. Please come so we may thank you for the last year of your support through the sounds we have found along the way. We have learned many lessons and born burdens for one another, both joyful and sorrowful. I have been reminded by Rich Mullins of late that "it's okay to be lonely as long as you're free." We hope that the stories we have heard from you all will continue though it may be some time before we play again for you in a live setting. Blackbird Cathedral is not a formal band and cannot have a formal dissolve. It will always exist as long as we remember and use whatever joys we have found there to lead abundant lives of faith, love, and healing. Please come support Springfield and her musicians and artists. We hope to bless you all one last time. Also, our good friends have been so gracious to join us for one last hurrah!, and they deserve your support as much as we do. Please come out, bring what you bring, and have all you find. love and mercy Andy of Blackbird Cathedral" We really do love you all.
